Your classroom awaits your transformational leadership.
Our two-year fellowship places you as a full-time teacher at the heart of Afghanistan's most underserved classrooms, and launches you into a lifetime of leading change beyond them:
Why Choose The Fellowship
Leadership
Skills
Teaching in underserved classrooms will sharpen and test you in ways no training program can replicate.
You will learn to manage complex challenges, navigate difficult communities, and lead under pressure — skills that stay with you for life.
Grounded
Understanding
You will see firsthand how inequity shapes the lives of Afghan children, and what it genuinely takes to change it.
That understanding becomes the foundation of everything you do during the fellowship and beyond it.
Lifelong Network
You will join a community of 550+ TAO alumni working across Afghanistan.
You will belong to a global movement of 125,000+ Teach For All Alumni who offer a community of learning and support, well beyond the Fellowship.
Career
Pathways
TAO alumni go on to become policymakers, entrepreneurs, school principals, educators and more. TAO actively supports Fellows in this process.
The fellowship prepares you with an array of skills for what comes next in your career.
The clarity that comes from doing work that truly matters is powerful. However, at TAO, purpose is never a solo experience. You will find it alongside alumni who walked the same path as you, your fellow cohort, and the communities you serve, all working collectively toward an Afghanistan where every child has the education they deserve.
Where Will You Teach?
You will serve as a full-time teacher in a public or community-based school.
